Our trip commences with our meeting at the airport and flight to Budapest. Upon our arrival we will start the tour of Pest. We will stop at Heroes’ Square which is adorned with magnificent statues of Hungarian kings. Then we will pass by the amazing building of the Opera and then through Andrassy Street, one of the most beautiful and commercial streets of the city, we will end up at the Cathedral of St. Stephen, the dome of which can be seen from all corners of the city. We will continue with the impressive Parliament of the city and our tour ends, with the fairy-tale side of Buda and where we shall see the Matthias Church and the Fisherman’s Tower, from where we will enjoy the view of the whole city. Transfer to our hotel to check into the rooms. Free time to enjoy the city’s bustling night-life.
After our breakfast we will start our excursion to the Danube villages. Just 15 kilometers from Budapest, we will come across the picturesque village of artists, St. Andreas, where you can shop for crystal, porcelain and many souvenirs. We will then ascend to Wissengrat with its medieval castle and magnificent view. Return to Budapest. Free evening. We suggest dinner in a traditional tavern with gypsy violins and traditional dances, where you will also taste the famous Hungarian red wine, known as “Bull’s Blood“.
After our breakfast we will depart for Bratislava, the beautiful capital of Slovakia where we will have the opportunity for a panoramic tour. We will see the city’s castle dominating the hill, as well as tour the Old Town, with the Cathedral of Agios Marinos, the Archbishop’s Palace, the National Museum, the National Theater and the National Gallery. Free time to enjoy your coffee or have lunch in the beautiful restaurants of the Old Town. Then we depart for the outskirts of Vienna, the famous Viennese Woods. First we will visit the Monastery of the Holy Cross in Xielingenkreuch. Then at the Mayerling location, we will see the former hunting lodge of the Habsburgs, known from the sad story of Prince Rudolf, the last heir to the Throne and Maria Betsera, and finally we will close our excursion with a visit and introduction to the well-known spa town of Mpaden. Free time. Transfer to Vienna. Arrival and check-in at our hotel. In the evening we will have a first acquaintance with the historical center of the city on foot. Overnight.
Breakfast and departure for the tour of this aristocratic capital, the city of Music & Museums. We will cross the famous Ring Strasse with its imposing 19th century mansions, the majestic Opera House, the Natural History and Art History Museums, the impressive Hellenistic style Parliament, the majestic City Hall, the University, the residence of the Greek benefactor Simon Sina and the Musikverein. Then we will visit empress Sissi’s palace, the famous Schönbrunn, where we will be guided inside the palaces. The palace owes its current form to Maria Theresa. The outer part is dominated by the exquisite baroque gardens, equal to Versailles, as well as the oldest zoo in the world. Finally,we will end up in the center of the city, where the Metropolitan Cathedral of Vienna, St. Stephen, is located. It dates from the 12th century in a mixed romantic and gothic style and is considered a central attraction of the city, with its main characteristic being its colorful, mosaic-style roof. Then we will walk to the historical district of the Greek parish, where the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity of the 18th century is located. in Byzantine style. Right next to it we find the church of St. George and the house where the ethno-martyr and forerunner of the Greek Revolution Rigas Fereos lived. Immediately afterwards we will board our bus and head to the hotel, where we will settle in and have time to rest. Afternoon free. We suggest a walk in the illuminated city, to stroll in the center in the old Greek quarter, where the beautiful restaurants of the area are located for good food, where the Greek merchants used to frequent century. In the evening we suggest you watch a wonderful Viennese concert.
After our breakfast we will depart from beautiful Vienna to Prague. Through a beautiful route a few hours away from Vienna, we will make a 2-hour stop in the second most beautiful city after Prague, “Český Krumlov“. Streams of the Voltava River run through many parts of this medieval city which, like Prague, is on the UNESCO list of protected cities. It is a cultural jewel with its particularly well-preserved Gothic and Renaissance style buildings, its churches and its narrow streets. The walls of Krumlov enclose treasures of special architectural and cultural value such as the “hidden bridge”. Visit the city’s castle and admire the panoramic view from above. In the early afternoon we depart for Prague. Check-in at the hotel and overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel and our tour begins with the Strahov Monastery and Loretto one of the most important monuments of Prague, then we head to the magnificent Kastropolis, the Prague Citadel that stretches over the hill of Mala Strana and ends at its impressive Gothic cathedral of St. Vito and in the “basilica” of St. George. We will continue with the “Little Side” (Mala Strana) one of the oldest historical districts in Prague. Then we will walk, from the picturesque Gothic bridge of Charles through the medieval streets of the “Royal Street” to the square of the old town, with the Town Hall and the famous astronomical clock and the “parade of the Apostles” as well as the square of the historical center of Prague. Afterwards, you are free for a stroll around town. For the evening, we suggest you watch a “Black Theater” performance, opera, etc., after all, you are in the city where the idea of the Black Theater was born!
After breakfast, we will depart from Prague to the famous spa town of Karlovy Vary in West Bohemia known for its thermal springs. In the 14th century it was named the “Royal City” by Emperor Charles IV and since then it has established itself as a meeting place for personalities of letters, arts and politics. Crossing the central pedestrian street next to the river Tepla, we understand why Goethe, Schiller, Beethoven, Bach, the Tsar of Russia, etc. they walked the same road. Departure for Prague. In the evening, have fun in typical Czech beer halls with local specialties and beer produced by them, or in Prague’s famous jazz clubs.
Breakfast at the hotel, CHECK OUT. Free time. In the afternoon, departure and transfer to Prague airport where, carrying in our luggage the most beautiful memories of the cities we visited, we will take the return flight to Athens.
According to the new measures for COVID 19, in Vienna there are no restrictions on entering and leaving the country.
The use of a special FFP2 or N95 mask is mandatory in means of transport as well as on the bus.
Please check your travel documents very carefully. For this trip you need a new type of ID. Your ID must be within 15 years and in good condition. If there is a valid passport, prefer it for European countries as well.
