DAY 3: REYKJAVIK - SOUTH ICELAND - HELLA: "GOLDEN CIRCLE", THINGVELIR, GEYSER, GOLDEN WATERFALL GULLFOSS, SNOWMOBILES TO LANGGJOKULL, ENTRANCE TO AN ICE CAVE - HELLA

+ -
Today we will discover the sights of the famous "Golden Circle", which offers us a wide variety of natural phenomena and secrets of nature. First we will visit the National Park of Thingvellir (Thingvellir, Þingvellir) with the oldest democratic Parliament (930 AD). Thingvellir is located next to Lake Thingvallavatn (Thingvallavatn, Þingvallavatn), the largest on the island. The beautiful gorge that crosses this park is actually the meeting point of two tectonic plates of the Earth - the Eurasian and the North American. The combination of natural phenomena and the historical importance of Thingvellir, make it an integral part of Icelandic life. Then we will see the famous Great Jet (Geyser / Geysir), which gave its name to all the hot springs in the world and we will admire one of the most active geysers, Strokkur, which shoots steam and water to a height of 30 meters. We continue to the majestic Gulfoss waterfall, the Golden Waterfall, one of the most impressive in Europe: thousands of tons of frozen water create a deep canyon. After the above visits, we will continue to the imposing Langjökull glacier, where we will have the opportunity to walk on it and ride Snowmobiles for about an hour (weather permitting). And our exciting experiences will culminate today, as we will find ourselves in the depths of the glacier and will traverse the ice caves with their deep blue color. A unique experience that will remain forever in our minds and souls!!! (entrance fee included). After completing our visit, we will depart for the impressive area of the southern part of the island. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Dinner. Overnight.

DAY 4: SOUTH ICELAND - HELLA - SKOGAFOS AND SELGIALANTSFOS WATERFALLS - DYRHOLAEY VIEW POINT - BLACK BEACH REINISSFIARA - LAKE JÖKULSARLON WITH ICEBERGS / AMPHIBIOUS VEHICLES - HOFFN

+ -
Our experiences from this unique country do not stop. Today we continue to the southern coastline of the island, in the shadow of the famous volcanoes Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull, whose huge volcanic cloud from the April 2010 eruption covered most of Europe and caused the interruption of air transport, mainly in northwestern Europe. We will see the spectacular waterfalls Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss, which one can even walk to on the path behind the waterfall! Then we will admire the stunning panoramic view from Dyrholaey View Point: to the east the black lava formations of Reynisdrangar in the sea - the famous three trolls - to the north the Mýrdalsjökull glacier and to the west the endless black coastline. Finally, in front of the peninsula there is a huge pitch-black lava arch rising into the sea, from which the peninsula takes its name (Dyrholaey). This tall basalt rock was shaped by the endless force of the waves crashing mercilessly on it, forming a large hole approximately in its center. We will continue to the famous Black Beach of Reynisfjara with its pitch-black volcanic sand, basalt caves and impressive polyhedral rock formations. Our journey along the laced coastline will bring us to the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, at the southern end of Vatnajökull National Park. And here another exciting experience awaits us, as we will visit the indescribably beautiful glacial lake by amphibious vehicle (cost included). Unimaginable images, icebergs and pieces of ice of various sizes, shapes and colors - from blue to deep blue, even dark green - slowly float in the crystal clear and calm waters of the lake. We continue to Hofn. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay.

DAY 5: EAST/NORTH ICELAND ~ HÖFN - DÍUPÍVOGAR - STUDLAGIL GORGE - LAKE MYVAT

+ -
New experiences every day with the question lingering: Is there any chance that this country will ever stop surprising us? Today is a great day on the lacy coasts and alternating picturesque landscapes of East Iceland. With a stop in Djúpivogur we reach the extraordinarily beautiful Stuðlagil Canyon - one of the country's hidden treasures with its rare basalt column formations. For centuries, the 150-kilometer-long Jökulsá á Dal or Jökulsá á Brú or Jökla River was one of the country's largest and most powerful glacial rivers. It was so powerful that it divided the Jökulsdalur valley into two separate parts with almost no communication between them. A river that was difficult and dangerous to cross. The only river in Iceland that became known by its nickname and not by one of its real names. We continue to our hotel in the Lake Myvatn area. Dinner. Overnight.

DAY 6: NORTH ICELAND - LAKE MYVATÝ - Dettifoss Waterfall - HASBURGI - HVERIR GEOTHERMAL FIELD - NAMASKARD - DIMMUBORGIR - GODAFOS WATERFALL - AKOUREIRI, WHALE WATCHING CRUISE

+ -
Morning departure to explore the "Diamond Circle of North Iceland". We will admire the waterfall with the largest volume of water in Europe, Dettifoss, and Ásbyrgi, a glacial canyon, the steep sides of which are formed by 100-meter-high cliffs. According to legend, the unusual horseshoe shape of the canyon was created by the horse of the god Odin, when one of its eight feet touched the ground in this area, hence its nickname as "Sleipnir's footprint". Inside the canyon is a beautiful forest. Then we will be amazed by the Hverir geothermal field with its boiling mud, hot springs and fumaroles - a setting reminiscent of the planet Mars - we will cross the eerie region of Námaskarð, we will see the strange lava formations at Dimmuborgir ("dark castles") and we will reach Lake Mývatn, another of the many natural wonders of this country. The bizarre shape of this lake is due to the eruptions of nearby volcanoes and the way in which their lava spilled. We continue to the majestic Godafoss waterfall, the "Waterfall of the Gods", which will offer us another fascinating image of this shocking route. Our final destination for today is the beautiful natural harbor of Akureyri, the capital of the North, built on the inlet of Eyjafjörður with its quaint cobblestone streets, small houses, cafes and restaurants with beautiful windows. Here we will go by special boat and try to see and photograph (if we are lucky) whales that live in the waters of the Arctic (the cost of the boat is included). Check-in at the hotel. Dinner. Overnight.

DAY 7: AKOUREIRI - GLAUMBÆR - BAULA VOLCANO - REYKJAVIK

+ -
Today we set off on another exploration. After our morning stroll in beautiful Akureyri we will depart for the oldest farm - folklore museum in Iceland - Glaumbær - with its characteristic houses and grass roofs (entrance fee included). We will cross the countryside and on our way we will make a short stop to admire the Baula volcano with its characteristic pyramid shape dominating the surrounding area. Arrival in Reykjavík and check into the hotel. Overnight.

DAY 8: REYKJAVIK, FLY OVER ICELAND, REYKJAVIK

+ -
Breakfast and today a unique experience awaits us: we will fly into the sky without leaving the ground, with Fly Over Iceland!!! With our feet dangling, in front of a 20-meter spherical screen, while the film takes us on an exciting journey through Iceland. Volcanoes, glaciers to Vikings and Trolls. Special effects, such as wind, fog and aromas, combine with the movement of the route to create an unforgettable 5D experience.
