NAXOS 3 DAYS MAY

Departure at 06:00 for the port of Rafina, boarding the ship and sailing to NAXOS. Arrival early in the afternoon and we immediately begin our acquaintance with CHORA and the eponymous Castle, ideal for our first walk, while a little later walking through the beautiful cobblestone streets, we will encounter the Archaeological Museum, the Catholic Church, the Ursuline School, the Venetian House and the old market. This is followed by check-in at the hotel, free time, optional dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast and tour of the most important sights of the island. First stop is Galanado, with the Venetian tower of Belonia impressive just before the entrance. Our beautiful route continues to meet Chalki with its Venetian towers, mansions and Byzantine churches. Walks in the village and visit the traditional citron distillery. A little later we will find ourselves near the village of Moni, at Panagia Drosiani (6th century), an important monument of the early Christian period with interesting frescoes. Filoti is the next village, built at the foot of Za, the highest mountain in the Cyclades. The mountainous route leads us to Apeiranthos, the "marble village", with three very important museums, archaeological, geological and folklore, where you can choose to visit them during our hour-long visit. With the village of Kynidaro with the famous Naxos marbles and the area of ​​Flerio, where the famous Kouros is located in an ancient quarry at the site where it was being built, we close the circle of visits and return to our hotel. Free time, dinner optional and overnight stay.

After breakfast we will visit the Temple of Apollo Portara, built in the 6th century BC on the rock with a unique view of the endless blue. A little later we will get to know the famous beach of Agios Prokopios, before ending up in CHORA for the last shopping at the very interesting traditional market of the island, with products such as Kitro, Kerasaki, the famous Naxos Cheeses, etc. This is followed by boarding the ship and sailing late in the afternoon to Rafina, arrival in the evening and transfer to Athens.
