INFORMATION FOR THE OPTIONAL DAILY CRUISE TO ALONISSOS:
Departure 10:15 Return 17:30
We begin our cruise by heading towards the imaginary gates of the Alonissos National Marine Park. This is the largest protected marine area in Europe, it includes Alonissos and several desert islands with rich flora and fauna and was established to protect the endangered Mediterranean Monk Seal. Our goal is to guide you through Alonissos and the surrounding area with its rocky islets, sea caves and protected species such as seals and dolphins that with a little luck we may or may not encounter.
Our first stop is Patitiri, the port and capital of the island for about 2 hours. You can visit the Alonissos Museum, the Mediterranean Seal Information Center, go for a swim at the beach with the turquoise clear waters at the edge of the harbor or alternatively take the optional bus excursion to Palio Chorio (Chora).
It is a traditional amphitheatrical settlement that has been preserved unchanged over time and is the most beautiful attraction on the island. There you can visit the Traditional House (museum), walk through its cobblestone streets, climb up to the Kastro area to enjoy the view, taste its traditional delicacies and do your shopping.
Next stop is for the first swim of the day at the deserted beach of Peristera in the Marine Park with a stay of about 1 hour. It is not an organized beach, a deserted beach with turquoise waters, the island is uninhabited.
Our next stop is Leftos Gialos for about 2.5 hours. One of the most beautiful beaches on the island with white pebbles, crystal clear waters for swimming and excellent seabed for snorkeling enthusiasts. Disembarkation on the beach is done safely at a pier. Those who wish can stay or return to the boat for diving and swimming from its platform.
The beach is organized with a beach bar, sunbeds at no extra charge for customers if they order something and restaurants for food. The boat has a glass keel for seabed observation. During the voyage, always traveling close to the coasts of the islands, there is a guided tour in Greek and English and you will hear some stories of folklore and historical content about our islands.
- The order of the program is likely to change, if deemed necessary for the best development of the excursion, without any omissions whatsoever.
