LISBON - 5 DAYS - APRIL

Meeting at the airport and direct flight to Lisbon, the Portuguese capital, which is built on the seven hills of the Tagus River. Arrival in the birthplace of fado with its narrow, picturesque alleys, houses with tiled roofs and facades decorated with colorful tiles. Transfer, check-in at the hotel and free time for a first acquaintance with the city. Walk to Placa Rossio, where the heart of Lisbon beats loudly, indulge in gastronomic delights and get carried away by the intense rhythm of the city.

Our tour today is dedicated to the picturesque and hospitable city, which still retains its glorious Latin character. One of the most famous sights of the city is the Museum of the Royal Carriages, where we will admire a unique collection of luxury and wealth dating back to the 17th and 19th centuries. Our next stop is the Jerónimos Monastery, the most impressive symbol of Portuguese power and wealth. Then we will visit the Monument to the Discoveries as well as the characteristic Tower of Belém, built in 1515 near the banks of the Tagus River to protect the river's mouth and has been designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. from where the Portuguese navigators set off for the ends of the earth. In the afternoon, wander the narrow cobblestone streets of the medieval Alfama district to the Castle of St. George to enjoy a panoramic view of Lisbon. In the evening, we suggest you enjoy the traditional Portuguese songs of fado, made famous throughout the world by the famous singer Amalia Rodrigues.

Breakfast at the hotel and free day. You can visit the Park of Nations, which was created in 1998 for the international exhibition EXPO and admire the longest bridge in Europe “Vasco da Gama”, 17km long. We recommend an excursion to the great center of Catholicism, Fatima, the beautiful medieval village of artists, Obidos and the tourist fishing village of the Atlantic, Nazaré. In the afternoon we return to Lisbon where you can enjoy your shopping in the large shopping centers of the city.

After breakfast, we depart for a pleasant excursion to the outskirts of Lisbon. Our first stop is Sintra, the summer residence of the kings, a city that abounds in natural beauty and is characterized by its historical and cultural heritage. The Royal Palace dominates the top of a lush mountain. Then we will pass by Cascais, a traditional fishing village that develops next to the capital and Estoril, the resort of all times, which is considered one of the most important tourist spots in the world and provides various activities such as a golf course, a racing track as well as one of the largest casinos in Europe. Our last visit is the westernmost point of Europe, Cabo da Roca. Transfer to the airport and full of memories we fly back to Greece. Arrival in Athens.
