MALTA - FEBRUARY & MARCH - 4 DAYS

Meeting at the airport and flight with Aegean Airlines. Arrival at Malta airport and immediate transfer to the hotel. Check-in and free time. In the evening we will walk around the area of ​​our hotel with the escort of our leader and you will have the opportunity to dine or have a drink in the nightclubs of the area.

After breakfast we will depart for a guided tour of the famous capital of the Knights of St. John. The tour of Valletta is on foot, because car traffic is prohibited in the Old Town. It is a unique fortified city with special historical importance and unlimited beauty. We will walk through the narrow picturesque streets and enjoy the elements of another era. We will admire the Barrakka Gardens, from where we will see the panoramic view of the two natural harbors of Malta and the three historic cities connected by the two great sieges of 1565 and 1942. Also, the magnificent church of St. John, the Palace of the Grand Master and the magnificent buildings with wooden balconies. Our visit to Valletta will be completed by watching an audiovisual show of Malta 5D. It is a new generation theater where you feel the "real" emotions of the movie. In a short time, you can explore the colorful and impressive episodes of Maltese history and culture, magnified with 3D films, moving seats, water sprays, air blasts, etc. A unique experience for all ages! After breakfast at the hotel we will be transferred to the center of the island. Our tour will begin at the Mosta Cathedral with the third largest self-supporting dome in Europe. Then we will climb the hill of Rabat where we will optionally tour the Catacombs of St. Paul, which are an extensive system of underground galleries and tombs dating back to between the 3rd and 8th centuries AD. Then the impressive walled silent city of Mdina will impress us, with its unique view and fortification, as well as its special architecture. Free time.

After breakfast, we will proceed to the medieval fortified city of Vittoriosa, where we will have the opportunity to see the 16th century church of St. Lorenzo, as well as many houses that have remained from the era of the Knights of St. John. Then we will visit Marsaxlokk, the largest fishing village in Malta. Here, you can wander around the market, have lunch, drink your coffee or simply relax and watch the colorful fishing boats. Transfer to the airport for the return flight to Athens with the best memories of this jewel of the Mediterranean.
